Jungle Jam returns to Jaco Jan 17-20th with Bill Kreutzmann, Oteill Burbridge, Max Creek, Ryan Montbleau Band and Zach Deputy. The landscaped jungle gardens of DoceLunas make a beautiful backdrop for an incredible show. With over 40 years experience, Max Creek is pretty tight and Oteil, having won two grammys in Tedeschi and Trucks and The Allman Brothers steps in pretty smoothly, as does Bill, who has played thousands of shows with the Grateful Dead.
Next Friday, Saturday and Sunday Jaco hotel DoceLunas will be hosting Jungle Jam with Bill Kreutzmann of the Grateful Dead, Oteil Burbridge of the Allman Brothers, Max Creek, Ryan Montbleau band and Zach Deputy. The show takes place under the fire tree in our five acres of landscaped jungle gardens.
Presale tickets are now available a the front desk at DoceLunas daily until 6pm. Prices are $25 for one night presale, $30 for one night at the gate, $65 for three nights. Join us for an incredible show at award winning Jaco hotel DoceLunas.
Here at Jaco hotel DoceLunas we are getting stoked for the upcoming Jungle Jam featuring Bill Kretuzmann of the Grateful Dead – the most watched drummer in the history of the world with over 2,000 shows in front of 10s and 100s of thousands! – 40 year veterans Max Creek, Oteil Burbridge of the Allman Brothers, no stranger to crowds himself, and opening acts Zach Deputy and the Ryan Montbleau Band. And giant puppets.
We are stoked to be hosting Bill Kreutzmann of the Grateful Dead and Max Creek. I figure because Bill has played over 2,000 shows averaging over 4 hours each for 10s to 100s of thousands of people, he has played live in front of more people more hours than anyone in the history of the world. How about that
her for over 40 years. So you could say they will be well rehearsed. It is such a great experience to see musicians with this level of familiarity and control exploring the music together through improvisation, and the jungle setting magnifies the good vibrations. This year we also have the Ryan Montbleau band opening and Zach Deputy, a one man band who will lay down a very rich multilayered anticipatory groove for you here – from his live performance at Bonaroo:
Jaco hotel DoceLunas will present Ryan Montbleau Band with Bill Kreutzmann and the Seven Walkers and Bill Kreutzmann with Max Creek and a couple other acts as well. The concert will stretch over three nights on the third weekend of February when the weather in Jaco Costa Rica is consistently dry and sunny. Come join is in paradise for three incredible shows.
In middle of the dry season, Jaco weather is predictable – there will be at most light rain so we can offer concerts in our five acres of landscaped tropical jungle – “The Garden Stage.” Jaco Hotel DoceLunas Garden Stage’s first show brought together musicians from some of the longest running, and best known rock bands in the world, all the way to Docelunas Hotel in Jaco, Costa Rica for a concert to benefit the local school system.
Bill Kreutzman, the first and longest tenured drummer for the Grateful Dead. Mike Gordon, bass player extrordinaire from Phish. Scotty Murawski, guitar virtuoso and founding member of Max Creek 38 years before. That’s a line-up!!! The national beer company had offered a stage and sound…. only to pull out the night before the show. All that was available was the stage from the restaurant, one for much smaller productions. Bill Kreutzman, the first to arrive, wanted
( In the years since, DoceLunas has always provided a professional and bonded festival style stage.)
He looked at it from several angles, wordlessly, as the situation with the beer company was explained. Finally, he turned and said, “It’s been a long time since I played on a stage like this….” Then he smiled broadly, “Don’t worry about it man, everything will be fine. We’re going to do a great show.” And a great show they did…to be continued…
Check out the Jaco hotel rooms surrounding the garden stage and get your tickets and hotel packages for the now widely expanded Jungle Jam February 2012 with Bill Kreutzmann, Max Creek the Seven Walkers, Ryan Montbleau Band, and Zach Deputy at Jaco hotel DoceLunas.
Please join us in paradise for a concert in the landscaped jungle gardens of our beautiful hotel in Jaco Costa Rica. Jungle Jam II, February 17,18, and 19th 2012, will feature Bill Kreutzmann of the Grateful Dead playing with the Seven Walkers and sitting in with 40 year veteran east coast regional jam stalwarts Max Creek, as well as playing with a trio to possibly include George Porter of the Meters and the Wild Tchopiltoulas and the Neville Brothers or Oteil Burbridge from the Almann Brothers band. Zach Deputy will open followed by the Ryan Montbleau Band and giant puppets will be in attendance.
