Restaurant

Jaco restaurant Eclipse at DoceLunas offers delicious fresh and healthy local and international cuisine using locally sourced ingredients. You can now enjoy fresh herbs and vegetables from our brand new aquaponic garden*, along with fruit from the many fruit trees on our property. Fresh caught fish from the Pacific from the local independent fisherman’s co-op, locally sourced chicken, pork and beef and vegetarian options are available.
Lunch items range from $8 to $11. Our dinner features fusion appetizers and small plates for around $9. “Enyucados” – mashed casava root wrapped around slow cooked pork and sausage, ceviche – fish ‘cooked’ in citrus juice, and chifrijo – crunchy fried pork morsels with red beans and rice are popular options.

Restaurant & Bar Layout

From a romantic, candlelit dinner for two on our wildlife viewing platform, to a full service wedding reception dinner for one hundred and fifty, Docelunas’ Eclipse restaurant is very accommodating for groups of all sizes. Surrounded on three sides by flowering plants, the Eclipse restaurant is open air and typically seats forty. With rental tables, we can accommodate larger groups.

Our eight seat bar, with flat screen tv and three high top tables, sees some lively conversations among world travelers, and friendly rivalries during sporting events. Eclipse presents beautiful artwork by local Costa Rican artists, and colourful masks made by an indigenous Costa Rican tribe.

The attached twenty seat lounge area with sectional couches and Adirondack chairs is a great place to relax with a drink and a good book, or have a competitive game of darts. We also have a projector and big screen for movie night, or so that you can see your team play in the big game.

Eclipse is well stocked with many mid-range to high end offerings, including a extensive collection of award winning Central American rums. Zacapa 23 and Costa Rica’s own Centenario 30 are exceptional.

We also have a great selection of tequilas for you, and many tropical fruit concoctions like the “Spooky”. Named after our first property cat, the “Spooky” is a refreshing blend of guanabana smoothie, hibiscus tea, and premium vodka. Perfect after a long day of exploring Costa Rica.

*We just started our aquaponic garden, so right now we only have peppers and basil, but soon we will have many more herbs, greens, and vegetables.
